Eric Scharber – Principal

Eric Scharber

Eric Scharber is a Principal at Simione Healthcare Consultants, leading all talent acquisition and employee retention efforts for the home care and hospice industry through Exact Recruiting, a Simione Talent Solution. He oversees executive search and non-executive recruiting services, as well as recruitment process outsourcing, compensation analysis and employee satisfaction survey services.

After founding Exact Recruiting in 2005, Eric led the firm to become the top recruiting and executive search entity for the home care and hospice industry, serving clients across the U.S. and placing more than 1,500professionals in 12 years of operation. Eric has spent his entire professional career in the healthcare recruiting, staffing and executive search industry — with the bulk of that time spent solely on home care and hospice. Earlier in his career, he honed his recruiting skills as an executive search consultant and recruiting manager for other healthcare recruiting companies that also specialized in home care and hospice. During this time frame, he began to develop a network of contacts that has enabled him to be successful in countless searches for his current clients. Eric is passionate in his goal of surpassing his client’s expectations and assisting them with talent acquisition and employee retention strategies.

He is an active member the Home Care Association of Florida and supports many other industry associations, meeting with members of Congress to discuss home health and hospice legislation and regulations, health care reform, co-pays and other issues that are directly impacting the home care and hospice industry. Eric earned a B.S. in business administration with specialization in marketing and public relations from the University of Florida.

Jo Rodgers – Director, Executive Search and Interim Management

Jo Rodgers

Jo, who has been with Exact Recruiting since 2005, joined the Simione team in 2017. A University of South Florida alumnus and a previous teacher, Jo is our lead go-to person on recruiting efforts for all retained and executive level searches. She works diligently on these positions, from acquiring them to building a strategy to fill them. Jo has held many roles at Exact Recruiting, and has been a very successful full-cycle recruiter and key account manager. Jo’s experience recruiting for the home care and hospice industry has allowed her to develop an amazing network of talent, which has, in turn, benefited our clients. Customer service is of great importance to Jo, and she is also extremely detail oriented. Jo has a keen ability to source and spot talent. Both clients and candidates enjoy working with Jo.


Ryan Mattson – Director, Recruiting and Operations

Ryan Mattson

Ryan, who has been with Exact Recruiting since 2009, has a degree in architecture from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. That led him into a design and programming-related career, managing accounts for a software company and developing organizational, customer service and communication skills made Ryan’s transition into healthcare recruiting seamless.

Ryan manages key client accounts, while helping home care and hospice professionals find positions that best suit their career goals. Ryan played an important role on our Recruitment Process Outsourcing (RPO) team, and has now taken on many new responsibilities. Ryan oversees our contingency search business line, as the point person for our clients. He focuses on all communications and follow-up with clients, and oversees our recruiting team.

Ryan strives to offer clients the best possible customer service. Candidates find him genuine, and a true resource in their search for career growth. Ryan’s work ethic and communication style sets him apart from other recruiters.

Esther Hardy – Senior Manager, Interim Management

Esther is an accomplished healthcare executive, bringing nearly 25 years of home health and hospice operational, customer relationship, recruitment and interim management leadership expertise to Exact Recruiting’s clients. In previous roles for an industry-leading post-acute advisory company and large national home care providers, she has a successful history of assisting home health and hospice leaders reach their talent acquisition goals at C-Suite, director and operational levels. Esther has also successfully managed multi-state, multi-site operations for regional Medicare and nursing private duty providers on the West Coast.

In the last decade, she has served as a national recruiter for a large nationwide home health and hospice organization. Her home health and hospice network extends throughout the U.S. She has a great ability to obtain recommendations from industry leaders, securing a high percentage of placements and exceptional customer satisfaction.



Missy Gililland – Recruiter / Compensation and Benefit Analyst

Missy Gililland joined Exact Recruiting in 2006 bringing with her years of Human Resource and Training experience. Missy specializes in providing Home Care and Hospice companies extensive compensation and benefits analysis, as well as employee satisfaction surveys. Our targeted analysis is designed to give companies the information needed to attract, retain and motivate current or future staff. Missy is also a highly accomplished Recruiter with connections to top tier candidates across the country. She is willing to go the extra mile to ensure her candidates are matched with the best company for their skill and experience.

Kathie Assmus  Account Manager / Recruiter

Kathie is a long time Home Care and Hospice industry recruiting professional. She joined Exact Recruiting in 2013 and now serves as a Recruiter and Key Account Manager. She spent many years as a Director of Recruiting for multiple national Home Care organizations and is very well networked throughout the US. She understands the industry very well and knows how to spot top notch talent.

Barry Kaplan – Account Manager / Recruiter

Barry joined Exact Recruiting in 2015 and holds a Bachelors Degree from the University of Tampa and a Masters from St. Thomas University. He is leader with a diverse background including being a Head Soccer Coach at the collegiate level and business owner.  Through his past experience, he developed a wonderful eye for talent, which serves our clients well. Add to that an amazing work ethic, excellent customer service skills and a deep understanding of the Home Care and Hospice industry he has become a key member of the Exact Recruiting team.

Karen Robbins – Account Manager / Recruiter

Karen Robins graduated from Florida State University with a Business Administration degree. She is a HR professional with over 15 years of experience in full cycle recruitment. She has owned several businesses over the years, so she understands the importance from the clients perspective of having the right staff in place in order for the business to succeed. For the past 10 years, Karen’s focus has been in the Home Care and Hospice Industry. She has a proven track record of successfully identifying and placing top talent in difficult to fill positions. She has an excellent ability to understand business needs and to build strong relationships with hiring managers and candidates.

Mary Ellen Wood – Account Manager / Recruiter

Mary Ellen joined Exact Recruiting in 2015 and has been an immediate difference-maker. She is a true professional with a keen ability to source and screen top talent. Prior to joining Exact Recruiting, Mary Ellen spent 15 years with Ethan Allen Global, where she developed amazing client management and customer service skills. Mary Ellen understands the Home Care and Hospice industry well and knows exactly what makes a qualified candidate. Most importantly, our clients and candidates alike enjoy working with her!

Molly Benik – Recruiter

Molly joined Exact Recruiting in 2015 with no prior experience in the recruiting industry, however, she quickly made an impact finding quality candidates for very hard to fill positions. She is focused and has a positive attitude, which serves her well while putting in the long hours to source candidates for our clients. Molly has a true understanding of the Home Care and Hospice industry related to Talent Acquisition.

Tammy Maldanado  Recruiter

Tammy Maldonado started with Exact Recruiting in 2013. She received her B.A. from the University of Louisville and began her career at the University as a Research Analyst in the Division of Cardiology. Later she moved into the corporate world in marketing and design, eventually becoming an operations manager for the national printing company Standard Register. There Tammy developed her skills for recruiting, training and leading service representatives and designers over a multi-site region. This diverse operational and administrative experience gives her a unique perspective on identifying talented candidates for the Home Care and Hospice industry.

Donna Pascoe – Recruiter

Donna joined Exact Recruiting in 2013 and brought with her over 10 years of recruiting experience. Her experience spans 20+ years in sales, business development, contract negotiation and recruiting. Doing the right thing, honesty and follow through are her strongest skills. She enjoys listening to clients and candidates, then recommending solutions to best fit their desires. She truly believe that she sets herself apart from all other recruiters by being accessible at all times.
